The focus of this year’s symposium is boundary objects in participatory machine learning.

We’ll be featuring perspectives from artists, researchers, policy makers, data scientists, designers, engineers and more on what boundary objects for machine learning can be, and what it looks like to put them into practice.

External speakers include Sendhil Mullainathan, Catherine D’Ignazio, Annelien Bredenoord, Charlotte Lee, Hanna Wallach and Anna Ridler.

Googler speakers include Ed Chi, Meg Mitchell, Donald Martin, Mindy Dellicarpini and Nithya Sambasivan, as well as Martin Wattenberg, Fernanda Viégas and Jess Holbrook from the PAIR team.

The event will be a three-part series of talks, panels, and discussions, with sessions hosted from London, Boston, and Seattle, respectively, over the course of the day. (Please check the schedule for more details.) You are welcome to join any or all of the three sessions.
