Google GovDev Challenge - Denver Colorado

The Google GovDev Challenge is a 24 hour codathon style event where teams will compete to build solutions for government agencies from Wyoming and Colorado. There will be at least four challenges each with a grand prize of $5000.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to improve government services while competing for cash prizes against fellow developers, designers and makers. The Google GovDev Challenge (http://www.govdevchallenge.com), is a live coding competition at Galvanize in Denver, Colorado, on May 17th and 18th.

Here’s how it works:

Government agencies in Colorado and Wyoming share common problems they hope to address through technology.

Participants have from 12 p.m. on May 17th until 11:59:59 a.m. on May 18th to develop solutions that rely on at least one Google tool, such as Apps, Maps or Cloud Platform.

Judges choose the winning teams and send them home with cash prizes, as well as key contacts within sponsoring organizations. There will be at least four challenges each with a grand prize of $5000.

Each registrant will receive $500 in Google App Engine Credits to use in the competition!

Make a difference using the power of technology to better serve our communities. It’s open to all developers, designers, students, entrepreneurs and public servants, so feel free to bring your friends.
