Grenoble, France - January 23-27, 2017.

This year the 17th EGC conference will be held in Grenoble  from 24 to 27 January 2017  on the University Campus UGA

The conference Knowledge Extraction and Management (CGE) is an annual event bringing together researchers and practitioners from disciplines within the science data and knowledge. These disciplines include machine learning, engineering and knowledge representation, and statistical data analysis, data mining, information systems, databases, semantic web and open data, etc ..

Processing and integration of data sources and knowledge arise constantly new needs in terms of methods, techniques and tools to acquire the data, classify, integrate, represent, store, index, visualize, interact with them, protect them and especially into useful knowledge, relevant and respectful of our rights.

For example, after the multiplication of sources of network data, including web, we are preparing now to diffuse deployment mining and knowledge processing. After connecting people through social networks, which are connected objects that add not only new data sources as well as new processing architectures and knowledge management.

Applications connected to the private and public networks have to manage, integrate and process data increasingly numerous and varied. The needs of scalability posed by large data collections, there are the heterogeneous data processing needs of varying quality and sometimes very dynamic from the online newspaper article, the temperature of a sensor connected to the photo or viral video to the geographical position of our cars, short messages to a microblog related data a genomic database, etc.

The EGC conference is an opportunity to meet the worldwide specialists from academia and industry, private and public, in order to confront the theoretical and practical applications to real data and communicate quality work, d exchange and promote cross-fertilization of ideas through the presentation of recent research, industrial developments and innovative applications.

Acts of EGC 2017, comprising sections of voice communications as well as those associated with posters, demonstrations and challenges, will appear in an issue of the journal RNTI. The authors of the best papers will be invited to submit an extended version of their articles to be published in international post-acts published by Springer.
